Yeah but it wasn't clear on the years see now I see all the way up to 2005 but my problem is what if I bought another specter how would I be able to tell or if I wanted to buy another respecter how can I tell that that's not a bathtub head on it

The bathtub head only appeared on the 83-84 gpz1100 and 84-85 zn1100 ltd and you would be hard pressed to find one anyways. They are visually identical on the outside so you can't really tell but so I wouldnt worry too much about it. Really just make sure you dont buy a cylinder head from a kz1000 csr because they have a mechanical tach drive in the head which you probably don't need. However, like others have said it would make much more sense to just fix the threads on your head you have. I prefer threaded inserts because I know they won't break. If you're dead set on buying a cylinder head, these are the bikes to chose from: 81-82 kz1000k ltd, 81-83 kz1000j kz1100a shaft , 82-83 kz1000r elr kz1100d spectre, 82-05 kz1000p police.

In my observation, these features are typically found on bathtub heads, that other models do not share:

1. Nibs on vertical fin tips
2. A's in intake passages
3. Threaded hole

Might be a good choice, though there will be significant investment beyond that to rebuild whatever you decide to use.

Check part numbers for the exact engine/bike model on:

www.cmsnl.com/kawasaki_model11368/

...to determine compatability.
